Bed & Breakfast in the outskirts of Ermelo
Welcome to La Mariposa Azul,
our new B&B in the hamlet of Tonsel, part of the village Ermelo and located rurally. La Mariposa Azul is a detached holiday home with private access. We have a non-smoking policy for the entire premises.
La Mariposa Azul offers two charging points for electric bikes and is a great place from which to explore the surrounding area. The village of Ermelo, the Hanseatic town Harderwijk, the Veluwe woods and the beaches of Wolderwijd are all within easy cycling distance.
There are also several great walking trails in the area. Our B&B is actually right on the Westerbork trail that runs from the Hollandse schouwburg in Amsterdam, used in WWII by the occupying Germans as a collection centre for Jews, to what was Camp Westerbork in WWII. A special trail with a noteworthy theme.
Local sightseeing spots include the windmills in Ermelo and Harderwijk. Harderwijk also has several museums, including the delightful Marius van Dokkum Museum, a city beach, a recently renovated boulevard and a wide variety of restaurants.

Extensive facilities
La Mariposa Azul has all the necessary facilities, such as a bathroom with shower with thermostat control and underfloor heating.
The kitchen is equipped with a combi microwave / grill oven, the very latest Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine and a kettle. Of course there is a fridge for keeping drinks or food cool.
La Mariposa Azul
is also equipped with a Hisense Energy Pro super-silent and energy-efficient climate control. Thanks to the special insulation, the wood cottage is very quiet.
What should of course not go unmentioned is the boxspring bed, which will ensure a very comfortable night.
If you come by bike, the bike can be parked at the cottage. Electric bikes can be charged next to the cottage.
Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at La Mariposa Azul.
Our Services
Naturally our Bed & Breakfast has a comfortable bed that ensures you start off your day fully rested.
Before you set out for a walk, bike ride or simply to enjoy the peace and quiet, we offer an extensive breakfast, taking into account any dietary requirements.
If requested a day in advance, we can prepare a delicious three-course surprise dinner for you. That includes two glasses of wine or refreshments each.
